There’s Oktoberfest, and then there’s St. Joseph Oktoberfest.

This is where German tradition meets the incredible cultures of our St. Joseph community. One minute you may hear the sounds of a German polka, and the next you’re listening to banda, tamborazo, Mexican regional music, or watching beautiful folklórico dancers fill the festival with music and movement.

That’s St. Joseph.

Different cultures. Different generations. Different traditions. One parish family.

Our Oktoberfest has become a day when parishioners, neighbors, friends, and families from across Aurora come together to eat, laugh, dance, play, and enjoy one another’s company. You don’t have to be Catholic. You don’t have to belong to St. Joseph. Just come. There’s a place for you here.

The food alone is worth the trip.

We’ll fire up the grills for brats, Polish sausage, hamburgers, hot dogs, and some of the best pork chops around. Then make room for the flavors of our Hispanic community with tacos, tortas, tamales, enchiladas, nachos, and other Mexican favorites.

And, of course, what would Oktoberfest be without cold beer, pretzels, good music, and friends around the table?

Throughout the day, you’ll find:

• Live music, from polka-inspired sounds to banda, tamborazo, and Mexican regional music

• Ballet Folklórico and cultural performances

• Beer garden and plenty of great food

• Silent auction and raffles

• Bingo

• Kids’ games, crafts, and family activities

• Face painting and outdoor fun

• Free admission for everyone

But the best part of Oktoberfest isn’t on the schedule.

It’s sitting down with someone you haven’t seen in a while. It’s watching children run around while grandparents listen to music. It’s seeing people dancing who might not even speak the same language. It’s sharing a table, sharing food, and realizing how much we have in common.

FROM POLKAS TO TAMBORAZO

Oktoberfest may have German roots, but at St. Joseph we celebrate it in a way that reflects who we are today.

The accordion, brass, rhythm, dancing, food, and celebration cross cultures beautifully. German polka traditions meet Mexican musical traditions, and somehow it all feels right at home at St. Joseph.

You may come for the pretzels and brats and find yourself dancing to a Mexican band an hour later.

That’s the fun of St. Joseph Oktoberfest.

A PARISH WHERE EVERYBODY CAN FEEL AT HOME

St. Joseph is a parish built around faith, family, service, and community. Our parish includes generations of families and cultures that each bring something special to who we are.

Oktoberfest gives us one big day to celebrate all of it.

Bring your children. Bring your parents. Bring your grandparents. Bring your neighbors. Bring somebody who has never stepped inside St. Joseph before.

Come for lunch. Stay for the music. Play some bingo. Have a beer. Dance a little. Meet somebody new. Stay for dinner.
